"Health and Wellness Fall 2020: Building Resilience for Success" series to focus on graduate student wellness needs

The Graduate Center is pleased to announce that the Fall 2020 Health and Wellness Series, “Building Resilience for Success,” will begin September 15. This 3-part, fully online series addresses graduate students’ physical, emotional, and mental health. The first workshop will feature Dr. Amy Athey, Associate Vice Provost and Chief Wellness Officer. She will discuss campus resources available to students as well as techniques for building resilience and fostering mental health.

The series is free to attend and will take place on Zoom. A list of the session dates is provided below. All of the workshops will be facilitated by health and wellness professionals. Topics for the second and third sessions will be based on a survey of graduate students. After the series concludes, materials will be available online at http://bit.ly/hwf2020.

  • September 15, 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, "Building Resilience for Success" with Amy Athey, Ph.D., Associate Vice Provost and University of Arizona Chief Wellness Officer
  • October 20, 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, "Adjusting to Loneliness and Isolation throughout the Pandemic" with Michelle Rosenbalm, LPC, Life Management Counselor, The A Center
  • November 17, 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, "Stress, Survival, and Self-care" with Jenny Simon, Ph.D., MC, LPC, Life Management Counselor UArizona Thrive Center
