Upcoming Event: An Editor’s Perspective on Scientific Publishing
The Graduate Center will host Dr. Laura M. Zahn, Editor-in-Chief of Cell Genomics and former Senior Editor at Science, for a session offering an inside perspective on the scientific publishing process. The event will provide guidance on preparing competitive manuscripts, understanding what happens after submission, and navigating communication with editors during peer review.
Dr. Zahn will also address current challenges shaping the scientific publishing landscape. Although the discussion will draw on examples from the life sciences, the insights are broadly applicable to researchers across disciplines. The session will conclude with a Q&A, including conversation on career pathways in scientific publishing.
The event will take place on March 31 from 3–4:30 PM at the Graduate Center (Room 102), with both in-person and virtual attendance options available.
Graduate students and researchers are encouraged to attend.
