Workshops and Events
Preparing for Business, Nonprofit, and Government Job Application Series
This Spring series of participatory workshops focuses on careers beyond academia and addresses topics such as developing efficient job search strategies; creating your LinkedIn profile and professional connections; tailoring job materials for specific jobs; and preparing for different types of interviews.
Start Smart Salary and Negotiation Workshops
A workshop series (offered Fall and Spring) that covers how to establish salary goals; the impact of the gender pay gap; effective interviewing; and negotiating job offer strategies. The program is a collaboration with the Tucson chapter of the American Association of University Women.
Graduate Career Groups
The Graduate Center hosts a series of graduate student career support groups to help you learn about diverse careers, create your professional LinkedIn profile and elevator pitch, and build confidence in your ability to create and maintain professional connections. The groups comprise a supportive, inclusive community of peers with career staff guidance.
Graduate Career Course
This topics course will provide professional development training for graduate students and prepare them for long-term success by addressing specialized skills, knowledge, or training in a variety of areas. Self-paced Online Programs
Career Fair Prep Program
This free and fully online asynchronous program for graduate students launches one month before the fall and spring semester career fairs and provides information, guidance, and resources on researching employers and job opportunities, preparing tailored resumes, crafting a self-introduction, and developing plans for conversing with employers at and after the fair.
Introduction to Graduate Careers
In this online, asynchronous, self-paced program, you learn strategies for researching and identifying careers beyond the academy, creating professional connections, translating your transferable skills and experiences, developing application materials, and interviewing.
