Seth Sowalskie is a doctoral student in the Department of Philosophy. He grew up in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and earned a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2019, where he double majored in American Politics and Philosophy. He then commissioned as a United States Army officer and served on active duty for five years, primarily at Fort Carson, Colorado, and was deployed to Poland in 2022. His broad research interests are political philosophy and ethics, free will, just war theory, and philosophy of religion. To this end, Seth is especially interested in the relationship between political systems and moral behavior in society. In his free time, Seth enjoys hiking (especially the Colorado 14ers), reading, cooking, mixology, and spending time with his family, friends, and church.
