UROC Summer 2025 Oral Presentations & Poster Session
Colloquium
Thursday, August 7 from 9-1 PM at the Integrated Learning Center
UROC's brilliant and amazing scholars have been working diligently over their 10-week summer programs. UROC is a collective of undergraduate research and grad school prep programs. For many students, this is their first foray into research, so we appreciate your support as they present their work.
The colloquium will take place at the Integrated Learning Center. Parking is available in Cherry Garage next door.
Schedules
Participant Instructions: Presentations will be 10-12 minutes with 3-5 minutes for Q&A. Students will be shown a timecard with 5 minutes left at 2 minutes, 30 seconds to wrap up.
It is recommended that participants attend the presentation before their scheduled time to ensure they are ready. Moderators will take the presentation from the USB provided to them by the presenters. Participants should wear their nametags that were given to them earlier in the summer.
Participants do not need to stay in the same room they are presenting in. There is 5 minutes for transition time after each presentation. Therefore, we encourage students to see presentations from other programs and, of course, support your cohort members as well. Below is an example of the schedules.
9-9:15 am | Student presentation and Q&A |
9:15-9:20 am | Transition time/setup for next presentation |
9:20-9:35 am | Student presentation and Q&A |

Poster Session
Friday, August 8 from 1-3 PM at the Student Union Memorial Center's Grand Ballroom
Please join us in celebrating our UROC cohort completing their summer research programs! UROC hosts numerous undergraduate research and grad school preparation programs through a 10-week summer program. During the summer, the scholars worked tirelessly on their individual research projects with a U of A faculty mentor(s). The students also attended numerous professional development workshops on data science, admissions to graduated school, and public speaking/communication. The Poster Session is the final event for students to showcase their research this summer!
Participant Instructions: Please arrive at the student union with enough time to set up your posters. All posters should be set up by 12:30 pm. T-pins will be provided. Remember to write your name on your poster tube so you can easily locate it afterwards.
If participants would like a photo with their poster, we recommend taking them before the session starts. There is a tight turnaround for the closing ceremony for programs participating immediately after the poster session. Remember to eat something, bring a quick snack, and drink plenty of water! Also, if you were provided a nametag from UROC earlier in the summer, please wear it for the Poster Session.
Closing Ceremony
Friday, August 8 from 3:30-5 PM at the Student Union Memorial Center's Grand Ballroom
The UROC students will celebrate the culmination of their hard work this summer with a certificate ceremony to close the summer programs. Light refreshments and appetizers will be provided.
A complete list of UROC Graduate College, affiliate, and guest programs, program sponsors, and information can be found in the Poster Booklet.
