Ava Bartlett-Miller is a doctoral student in the Entomology and Insect Sciences Graduate Interdisciplinary Program. She graduated from Baylor University where she competed as a collegiate athlete in track and cross country and earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Theology. While at Baylor, she served in the Arthropod Sensory Biology and Neuroethology laboratory where she performed toxicity trials and olfactometry studies on the medically important Aedes mosquito species. She is excited to continue researching how mosquito physiology can be manipulated to reduce disease transmission and improve public health outcomes. In Ava’s free time, she enjoys running, watching sports, and reading.
