Isis Burks (she/her/hers) is a GA in the Graduate Center’s Office of Career Services. She assists graduate students with developing career plans, and she facilitates workshops in career exploration, networking, and professional development. Isis is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska where she graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.A. in Psychology. During her time there, she had numerous teaching opportunities and leadership experiences. She is currently a first-year Ph.D. student in School Psychology in the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies. Her research interests include advancing mental health and psychological well-being in minoritized K-16 demographics (i.e., socio-emotional and behavioral supports and interventions). In her free time, Isis enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling to new places, and going to concerts.
