Peer Writing Groups

Writing Efficiency Sessions (Graduate Center, co-hosted with Postdoctoral Affairs, and the Think Tank Writing Center)

Online Writing Rooms (Writing Skills Improvement Program)
WSIP is excited to host a weekly online writing room for writers of all genres and backgrounds, free for UArizona graduate students. -
Postdoctoral Writing Accountability Groups (Postdoctoral Affairs)
A postdoctoral appointment is an excellent opportunity to build your research and publication record. But writing can be intimidating, and it is easy to let other responsibilities get in the way of writing productivity. Research shows that joining a writing accountability group can improve publication rates and promote work-life balance.

Grant and fellowship writing support (Graduate Center, in collaboration with the Graduate Center Office of Fellowships and Community Engagement)
Each year, the GCOF works directly with 200 – 250 graduate students applying for fellowships through workshops dedicated to developing their grant writing skills. Approximately 80% of the NSF GRFPs awarded to students at the UA have been supported through this office. -

The Fellowship Application Development Program offers deadlines and writing support to assist UArizona students in completing fellowship applications over the summer.

THINK TANK Workshops and Studios
The Writing Center offers free workshops and studios to classes and student groups upon request on a variety of writing-related topics. Currently, all workshops will be conducted online via Zoom. -
Writing Skills Improvement Program Writing Workshop Series
WSIP offers a regular series of 50-minute workshops weekly throughout the semester. Workshops are interactive and activity-based. Participants are encouraged to bring samples of their own writing to practice skills. -

Writing Boost! Program (Writing Skills Improvement Program)
The Writing Boost! is a new week-long online writing institute and boot camp, offering workshops and individual tutoring. It begins August 9th, and applications are now live through the above link. -

Editing Services (fee-based) (Writing Skills Improvement Program)
The Writing Skills Improvement Program has a staff of professional editors with extensive experience available to edit most types of writing. WSIP editors specialize in line editing (i.e., grammar, punctuation, overall clarity) and reference styles. They may offer minor insights, suggestions, or questions about content, structure, and organization. Copyright and reprint permissions are the responsibility of the author. They do not edit class assignments. They also do not offer manuscript format editing at this time (table of contents, headings, titles, etc.).
