Emotional Intelligence

Recognize, understand, and regulate emotions—your own and others’—to navigate relationships thoughtfully, respond constructively under pressure, and build trust, resilience, and psychological safety in professional environments.

Emotional Intelligence includes:

  • Developing awareness of your emotional responses, stress signals, and triggers — and how they affect interactions and decision-making
  • Regulating emotions in high-pressure or uncertain situations to remain composed, respectful, and effective
  • Demonstrating empathy through perspective-taking, attentive listening, and sensitivity to others’ experiences and needs
  • Reading social and interpersonal dynamics accurately and adjusting behavior to fit the context and people involved
  • Approaching conflict, tension, or sensitive topics with patience, curiosity, and emotional control rather than reactivity
  • Building and sustaining trust by treating others with dignity, respect, and consistency
  • Contributing to environments of psychological safety where people feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, or admitting uncertainty
  • Responding to stress, setbacks, or mistakes with resilience — recovering, learning, and re-engaging productively
  • Balancing authenticity with professionalism in emotional expression (knowing what, when, and how to share)
