Phase 2: Application Development
This phase is for individuals who are ready to write their grant proposal! This means you have determined the grant mechanism you want to apply to, gathered the team to support the research, understand the list of grant components to complete and have a framework of the research project.
Programming:
- Fellowship Application Development- Deluxe Program: 12-week structured program intended for submission deadlines greater than six months in the future. Register by August 28th (extended to September 11).

- Fellowship Application Development Program kick-off is September 1 from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Zoom.
- Fellowship Application Development - Sprint Program: 6-week structured program intended for submission deadlines 2-6 months in the future. This program will have two start dates each Spring and Fall semester.
- Fall 2026 register by: September 28th (Kick-off September 30th, 12-1 pm) and October 26th (Kick-off October 30th, 12-1 pm)
- Spring 2027 start dates: TBD

- Fellowship Application Development - Ad hoc support: Students can submit drafts for asynchronous feedback or schedule a 15-30 min consultation with the GA or a writing consultant.

- Office of Fellowships Brightspace site - This platform serves as an asynchronous guide through the grant lifecycle and a supplemental complement to the Office of Fellowships programming.
- Step 1: Log into D2L (opens in a new tab).
- Step 2: Select the Discover link in the Navbar.
- Step 3: Select Browse All Content.
- Step 4: Type “Office of Fellowships” in the search box and select the Search icon.
- Step 5: Select the Office of Fellowships course in the results list. This will take you to the course enrollment page.
- Step 6: Select the Enroll in Course button to self-enroll for the course.
- Step 7: When the enrollment is complete, select the Open Course button to go directly to the course.
- Step 8: The next time you want to open this course, select the Discover Courses tab in the My Courses widget on the D2L Homepage.
