Writing can be a challenge to coordinate any time of year, but summer can be especially difficult due to the desire to take on other projects and the real need to relax and recharge. Graduate Writing Lab has two programs to help you maintain or build your momentum on your writing projects and goals. Read on for brief descriptions and visit the program pages to sign up. Our team looks forward to supporting your summer writing endeavors!

Writing Efficiency Sessions (WES)

Summer 2026 will offer times Monday through Thursday where you can dedicate time towards your writing projects and be in community with similarly minded students. The sessions are all on Zoom, so it is an even easier to write in community while traveling or just beating the summer heat if you are in Tucson. The program runs from May 26 through June 22 and you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like. Just sign up to get the Zoom link.

Writing Classes and Groups

Graduate Writing Lab offers summer dissertation writing groups from May 26 to June 30. You will meet twice a week - once to simply write in community and another time to participate in guided peer review or dissertation writing skill building workshops. Past students have heralded the program's ability to help them move forward on their dissertation goals. Applications open on May 12.
