Alianna Casas
Alianna Casas is a doctoral student in the School of Government and Public Policy. She received her B.S. in Business Economics and Political Science and her M.A. in Applied Economics from Western Kentucky University. Her primary research interests are regionally based in Latin American politics, with a particular interest in studying political violence, gender-based crimes, and corruption. Alianna firmly believes in the transformational power of educational attainment and believes accessibility to higher education should not be conditional for minority, underrepresented, or first-generation students. Furthermore, She plans on pursuing a career in academia to inspire students to use their education to change lives. In her spare time, Alianna enjoys thrifting, writing movie reviews via Letterbox, and gardening.
