Cason Hancock is a doctoral student in the Arizona Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Originally from Houston, TX, he recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Centenary College of Louisiana and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. His research in drug repurposing, bio-instrumentation development, and immunotherapeutic manipulations led him to pursue cell and tissue engineering, with an emphasis on cancer biology.  Applying engineering principles and techniques, he is interested in the investigation of tumor microenvironment metabolic pathways and their relationship with their healthy counterparts. His goal is to become a Principal Investigator, so he can profile cancer and work to solve its mysteries one clue at a time. Outside of the lab, Cason enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, cooking, discovering new music, and exploring everything that Tucson has to offer.
