Daniela Martinez Herrera

Daniela Martinez Herrera is a doctoral student in the School of Anthropology. Prior to coming to the University of Arizona, Daniela graduated in December 2023 with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in Forensics from University of Texas at Arlington, and earned an MA in Anthropology with a focus on Biological Anthropology from Texas State University. Her research focuses on the process of forensic human identification, specifically in migrant deaths, and sharing this process in a way that families can understand. During her Master's degree, she was a graduate research assistant for Operation Identification, where her main role was to speak with families and Consulates about the steps involved in identifying and repatriating their loved ones. Daniela grew up in North Texas and is a mom of two boys. While an introvert, Daniela likes to play board games, go on walks, and look for new coffee shops.
