Emmett Bauer
Emmett Bauer is a Ph.D. student in the School of Plant Sciences. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2025. During his undergraduate studies, he developed an interest in plant–microbe interactions, which led him to continue his education as a graduate student. His research focuses on fungal ecology, plant–microbe interactions, and the role of fungal volatile organic compounds in shaping plant health and microbial community assembly. As an undergraduate, he participated in research projects in the Canadian Arctic and Panama, where he gained experience studying plant and fungal communities across diverse ecosystems. Outside of research, Emmett enjoys collecting houseplants, exploring nature, and learning about plants and fungi.
