Francisco Espinoza

Francisco is a doctoral student in the Physiological Sciences Graduate Interdisciplinary Program at the University of Arizona. His research interests lie at the intersection of gait rehabilitation, neuromechanics, and sports performance. He is driven by a deep curiosity about how humans move, how those movements are orchestrated by the nervous system, and how we can leverage that knowledge to enhance rehabilitation outcomes. Originally from Austin, Texas, Francisco earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Houston. His academic journey has been shaped by a passion for understanding the science behind movement, both in clinical and athletic settings. A fun fact about Francisco is that he’s a dedicated sports fanatic. Whether it’s soccer, football, or just about anything competitive, he is always ready to join in or cheer from the sidelines.
