Ian Busby is a doctoral student in the Department of Physics. Originally from Bend, Oregon, he graduated with a bachelor's in Physics from Oregon State University with minors in Mathematics and History. During his undergraduate studies, Ian's research focused on classifications of gamma-ray burst light curves and spectra. He has interests in cosmology and high energy astrophysics. Additionally, he worked as an undergraduate learning assistant for most of his time at Oregon State, assisting in the physics classroom and in office hours. His main goal is to become a professor to continue his joy for research and teaching. Outside of academics, Ian enjoys hobby astronomy, swimming, and water polo.
