Judith Salcido (Judy) works as a Graduate Assistant for the Graduate Writing Lab (GWL). She helps provide support for graduate tutors, Graduate Writing Groups (GWG’s), Writing Efficiency Sessions (WES), and other graduate writing workshops and courses offered through the GWL. She earned a B.A. in Secondary Education – Extended English Education and an M.A. in Language, Reading, & Culture with an emphasis on Multicultural Education and Social Justice. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies with a minor in Educational Leadership and Policy. Her research emphasizes Indigenous storytelling methodologies and testimonio as educational theory, pedagogy, and praxis. When not working, Judy enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, reading, and spending time with her family, her friends, and her cat, Bowie.
