Kendrick Lacerda is a doctoral student in the Department of Philosophy. He grew up in Turlock, California – a small suburb in California’s agricultural Central Valley. After completing two years of general education at Modesto Junior College, Kendrick received his BA in Philosophy from the University of San Francisco. His broad research interests are in political, legal, and moral philosophy. At the moment, Kendrick is particularly interested in how our psychology constrains the political arrangement we can live under, just war theory, and the ethics of immigration. In short, he is interested in how empirical facts about the human condition and current political arrangements bear on philosophical theorizing. When not philosophizing, Kendrick can be found walking with his black lab, Flume, or hanging out with his partner, Julianna.
