Laura Shriver

Laura Shriver is a plant ecologist who studies dryland restoration techniques to manage invasive species, source native plant seed, and revegetate degraded ecosystems in an increasingly arid world. Originally from New England, Laura earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College, spent several field seasons collecting seed and ecological data across the U.S., then studied the effects of herbicides and fire on native plants for her master’s degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Since 2023, Laura has coordinated the Restoration Assessment and Monitoring Program for the Southwest for the U.S. Geological Survey in Flagstaff, Arizona. Laura is excited to continue conducting collaborative research to address applied questions in dryland restoration ecology and learning about the unique ecosystems of the Southwest at the University of Arizona. Laura enjoys film photography, botanizing, biking, and hiking with her two dogs.
