Lijie Liu
Lijie Liu is a doctoral student in the Educational Psychology program. Originally from Hefei, China, she attended Beijing Normal University where she graduated with her bachelor's degree in Physics. She then joined the University of Arizona and earned her master's degree in Educational Psychology. Her research interests focus on emotional experiences, especially emotional labor, of marginalized teachers. Through her work, she aims to promote marginalized teachers' agency and wellbeing, while fostering a more equitable and supportive teaching and learning environment. Her current research emphasizes racialized emotions and emotional labor for teachers of color (TOC), investigating how systemic inequities shaped their lived experiences. Outside of her academic pursuits, Lijie enjoys ACGN (Animation, Comics, Games, and Novels) culture, where she is both a fanfiction writer and a doujin artist. She is also a cat lover who raises a Siamese cat named Shishuang in China.
