Seongmok Kim

Seongmok Kim is a doctoral student in Systems and Industrial Engineering. Originally from South Korea, he worked on a wide range of reliability projects involving home appliances, automobiles, aviation security equipment, and defense systems. His research interests include failure data analysis, degradation modeling, and predictive maintenance. He is motivated by the belief that understanding how systems fail, predicting when failures may occur, and preventing them can help protect those who rely on these systems. Outside the lab, Seongmok enjoys seeking out good food, cooking Korean dishes, and playing badminton, table tennis, and volleyball.
