Tram is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication. Born and raised in Vietnam, she started her US journey as an undergraduate at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. While earning her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and working with international friends at International Student Services, she discovered her interest in communication, especially intercultural communication, and how it provides insights into her and her international peers' experiences in the US. This realization led her to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Arizona to study cross-cultural interactions and their influence on international students and other students in the US. Tram’s goal for her ongoing research is to recognize international students' concerns and investigate how intercultural interactions can accommodate and promote a sense of belonging in higher education. Outside of research, Tram enjoys making Vietnamese home-cooked meals for stress relief and comfort.
