Tyler Feemster

Tyler Feemster is a doctoral student in mathematics from South Carolina. He earned his B.A. in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2023 and has tutored mathematics in Maryland and Tucson. As an undergraduate, Tyler drew on the geometric theory of Lie algebras to investigate number-theoretic questions surrounding nonabelian Galois extensions. This work deepened his interest in the longstanding interplay between arithmetic and geometry, as well as in the openness of mathematical research, where new methods can emerge from anywhere. Outside mathematics, Tyler enjoys exploring Tucson’s restaurants and weightlifting, which he values as a practice of self-care and steady personal improvement.
