Zoya Nazir

Zoya Nazir is a doctoral student in the Physiological Sciences. Prior joining the University of Arizona, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience in three years from the University of Texas at San Antonio where she studied how neuromodulators shape auditory processing in the central hub of the auditory pathway: the inferior colliculus. Her research at U of A will build upon this work and focus on how the communication between the brain and the body, specifically how neural circuitry shapes sensation and physiological responses beyond hearing. Outside the lab, Zoya enjoys crocheting and knitting, taking nature walks, finding new songs and movies, and bowling.
