Ana is a wildlife biologist and doctoral student in Natural Resources at the School of Natural Resources and the Environment, specializing in wildlife conservation and management. Originally from Colombia, she has dedicated her career to conserving biodiversity, promoting sustainability, and managing wildlife in rural regions. She has worked with local governments and private institutions to care for animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and has led community-based conservation projects. Her research focuses on wild animals, especially bats, in urban and rural areas of Colombia, where she has proposed strategies to mitigate habitat loss and prevent species extinction. Ana also works as an educator, raising awareness of threats to biodiversity. She supports rural and indigenous communities by providing education and technical advice on the sustainable use of natural resources, emphasizing the balance between community needs and conservation. Outside her career, she enjoys salsa dancing, classic rock, and time with loved ones.
