Sarah Madandar Arani
Sarah serves as the Graduate Center Office of Fellowships Graduate Assistant, where she supports student funding initiatives, writing workshops, and assembles the GradFunding Newsletter. She also contributes to the Fellowship Application Development Program for students applying for graduate-level funding and collaborates with the Graduate Writing Lab as a writing consultant. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Persian Studies’ literature track with a minor in English. Her research focuses on gothic literature, with particular attention to local gothics and women’s writing. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in English Language and Literature and has experience in teaching, editing and curriculum development. Sarah has lived in three different countries and hopes to bring her multicultural experience and mindset to her work and research. Outside of her academic and professional work, she enjoys writing stories, cooking meals that may or may not follow a recipe, and swimming her worries away.
